About Robert Alexander

This is Robert Alexander Photography , I started working in the industry at the age of sixteen and have worked for various companies and clients. My formal training in photography started at college in Pontefract, West Yorkshire where I studied it at A level but my greatest experience of photography comes from working in the industry with a range of award winning photographers. I have photographed various events including around two hundred weddings. Also in my portfolio are portraits and dance shows as well as weird and wonderful items for brochures.

From an incredibly early age I have been exposed to photography coming from my parents. They themselves also work in the industry and I was dropped in at the deep end at the very start with a manual Pentax film camera, which meant I quickly had to learn about the technical side of photography. This is something I believe many photographers who have started on digital lack as they seem to rely heavily on the camera to do the work for them resulting in badly exposed or blurry images lacking in creativity and imagination. Once I'd grasped this technical knowledge I quickly moved on to experimenting with different filters, films and lenses which really sparked a passion in creating images.

I enjoy working with people especially when I have a camera in my hand and I look forward to approaching each and every assignment with a slightly different view point to the last in order to always keep the imagery fresh and exciting for both the client and myself.

I feel that this various range of work at an early age has led to a great adaptability as a photographer. Photography is my absolute passion and I hope that this comes across in my work. Whether under a strict brief or given free reign to create a set of images, each piece of work is created with the same care and passion as the first image I ever took.
